Founded on 2009 in the Philippines that has now grown to at least 500 Krumpers throughout the country, with 20+ Session Spots in the many islands of the Philippines.
The Hax-Xyb fam, headed by Hax-Xyb aka Twin Beast, led the growth of this movement to what it is today. Through their leadership and initiatives, KRUMP took the Filipino Dance Community by storm, continuously and consistently growing in numbers. Teaching and training younger leaders which then created new fams which then led to create smaller KRUMP movements all over the country. Now, almost every major city and province in the Philippines have established KRUMP Spots.
Today, Hybrids of Freedom (HOF), together with the Clan of Killaz — a KRUMP clan consisted of the fams under Hax-Xyb Fam, VFam and 1K Fam — are the pillars of this united community. Their work in both small and major events continue the goal of spreading the culture and life of KRUMP today. “KOB PH” and “KRUMP Wars” by VFam, “My Street” and “HOF Cup” by HOF are some of the long-running projects that continue to give opportunity for Filipino Krumpers to learn, grow and connect.
Despite — and because — of the underprivileged circumstances of most us living in a poverty-striken country, our community has developed into a movement of dancers who are deeply driven, passionate and supportive of each other. We take pride in our struggles because it is what makes us a force to reckon with and we believe that the world is yet to see the best of what we have to give in KRUMP and in dance.
